CURRENT EVENTS

Holiday Joy!
What an amazing time of year! People just keep stopping by NCM to drop off toys for needy children, coats and blankets for the homeless, food for our pantry and presents for the men in our shelter. It's hard to feel bad when you get to see so much good!

 NCM summer raffle

And the winner is.... Judith Jerry won the NCM $7,500.00 raffle. Thanks to all who purchased tickets this year--the sale of raffle tickets generated over $3,000.00 that will be used to provide for the needs of the hungry and homeless in our area.

Celebration of Caring
This years event was a huge success!
Nearly 200 guests enjoyed a delightful meal and wonderful entertainment and helped us raise well over $10,000.00 to be put to use helping feed and house the hungry and homeless in our area.

Northside Common Ministries
Providing help to the Hungry and Homeless for 30 years

North Side Ministries
Northside Common Ministries is a non-sectarian, non-profit, community-based organization established in 1982 by a collaboration of 30 local churches to meet the increasing needs of the homeless population.

An affiliate unit of Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania, NCM operates the Pleasant Valley Emergency Shelter for men who are homeless, the Northside Community Food Pantry, and a Permanent Housing Program for men with disabilities.

Our work is supported and facilitated by hundreds of volunteers including members of some 60 church congregations who provide evening meals for Shelter residents throughout the year.

Our Mission
NCM’s mission answers the call of Jesus “to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and receive the stranger,” and the prophet’s call to “do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God.”

“Then the Righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.”
          ~ Matthew 25: 37-40

How can you help Northside Common Ministries carry out our mission? In addition to financial contributions and participation in our fundraising activities there is always a need for collections of much needed items. Consider coordinating a food drive, housewares drive or toiletries drives at your church, school, community group or office. Details about organizing these drives can be found on our Pantry, Housing and Sheter pages of this site or by calling Jay at 412 323 1163.
